Are you looking for the best fusible web for applique?

Applique is so fun and can create some amazing intricate designs. But the most important tool to create these stunning designs in fusible web or bondaweb as it also know.

Without this then the fabric is more likely to fray, be flat and hard to work with and too soft. Using fusible web helps bond the weave of the fabric, keeps the fabric stiff and strong.

Best Fusible Web For Applique

No matter which style of applique you are doing these are all essential and worth looking at for your projects.

Pellon EZ-Steam II

This like many of the other webbing products on this list is perfect for applique and other projects too. The new and improved version is much more suitable to applique as it is easier to use.

The improved version is much the same as the old but has a lite version and an original weight.

The paper backing is also different, before it was plain and hard to know which was the right side to peel away, now it is gridded which highlights the right side.

The Pellon webbing also comes with 2 ways to apply and doesn’t require stitching into place, perfect for alternative projects or seam free applique.

Vilene Bondaweb

Vilene bondaweb is also known as Vlieseline so don’t worry if your search turns into a different product as it is the same. You can buy different weights in this particular brand.

The most popular is a lighter weight which is most suited for using with applique. The product is easy to use with an easy-peel away from the backing.

Heat n Bond Lite

The heat and bond lite is so easy to use but a little harder to find, especially in the sheet form.

I still wanted to add it due to it being recommended quite often during my research into other brands.

I would recommend using this particular style in smaller projects that are more intricate and require less bondaweb. This will be better for such projects as it will mean less cutting out and fiddling with small pieces.

Heat N Bond Thermoweb

This is perfect if you are wanting to print via inkjet printer. It is simple and easy to use and comes in an easy packaging so store long term.

The bondaweb comes in sheets so it is more suited to bigger projects and designs. Many use it for applying applique to quilts and larger designs on bags etc.

I hope you have found this guide on the best fusible web for applique helpful and clear. If you still want to find some other reviews, check the reviews on Amazon and eBay before buying.
